Animal Welfare in the Third Reich

In the last hundred years, there has been no country which respected animals more than National Socialist Germany. The National Socialists were the first political group to expand on the concept that all animals, and not just humans, had rights regardless of their practical usefulness in relation to people.

The National Socialists decreed that cruelty to animals was a severe crime, and dealt with it accordingly. In National Socialist Germany the practice of kosher slaughter was banned, as was animal vivisection.

Adolf Hitler, Rudolf Hess and Heinrich Himmler were but few among many of the top echelon of National Socialists who were vegetarians for ethical reasons. Himmler himself wrote a wonderful children's fable in which Germans who had caught mice in their homes refrained from killing them, and instead took them to court and sued them as their equals. Hermann Göring, another high ranking National Socialist, was himself a firm animal rights advocate. He worked to revise hunting laws in Germany to ensure that game would experience a minimum of pain.

According to Joseph Goebbels' diary entry of April 26th, 1942, Hitler planned to abolish slaughterhouses all over Europe after the successful completion of the war. 

So, not only did the National Socialists respect animals, but they fought for the rights of those animals and made it illegal to mistreat them. The same thing can not be said in North America. In the United States alone, it is estimated that in 2008 some 17,000,000 animals were being used in research (tortured) every year. In Canada, just over 2,000,000 animals had been used in research (tortured) [1].

Take into account that it is estimated that roughly 99% of farmed animals are farmed in a factory farm [2]. What this means is that these animals live their entire lives in cages, have no freedom, and are routinely given numerous drugs (for various reasons). Animals such as chickens, turkeys, and other birds, are commonly mutilated (it is standard procedure to cut off the beaks of such birds). 

When you compare how the National Socialists treated animals to how North Americans (Americans, Canadians, also, many, many other countries) treat animals, it's obvious who had compassion, and who has none. When you consider that mistreatment of animals is one of the telling signs of a psychopath, and that most serial killers exhibited cruelty towards animals at an early age [3], it is very easy to understand who is really 'evil', and who is really 'good'.

Was Adolf Hitler a Racist?

Adolf Hitler: usually, Hitler is depicted as the personification of racism.

Most people whom I have spoken to about Adolf Hitler generally contend that he was absolutely, and by any definition, a racist. Now, one cannot deny that Hitler was incredibly interested in the idea of race. However, being interested in race is by no means instant qualification to be labelled a 'racist'. Usually, most people assume Hitler hated all races other than White people (Germans), when in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. This was established by Adolf Hitler himself:

"…I promise you I am quite free of all racial hatred: It is, in any case, undesirable that one race should mix with other races. Except for a few gratuitous successes, which I am prepared to admit, systematic cross-breeding has never produced good results. Its desire to remain racially pure is a proof of the vitality and good health of a race. Pride in one’s own race – and that does not imply contempt for other races – is also a normal and healthy sentiment. I have never regarded the Chinese or the Japanese as being inferior to ourselves. They belong to ancient civilizations, and I admit freely that their past history is superior to our own. They have the right to be proud of their past, just as we have the right to be proud of the civilization to which we belong. Indeed, I believe the more steadfast the Chinese and the Japanese remain in their pride of race, the easier I shall find it to get on with them."

After reading such a statement it is quite hard to label Hitler, himself, as a racist. However, most people, even when faced with statements like this, will still reject that Hitler was not racist. They'll say something along the lines of 'look at what he did to the Jews!' Well, what did Adolf Hitler really do to the Jews?

We know for a fact, and without any doubt, that the 'Holocaust' (the idea of six million Jews being rounded up due to a German state order and exterminated in 'gas chambers' or otherwise executed) is absolutely based on no evidence and is historically groundless - i.e. it didn't happen. Even just considering this, it then becomes hard to really paint Hitler as a bad guy. In fact, when you consider that the 'Holocaust' is nothing other than war propaganda (and poorly devised war propaganda at that), Hitler seems to be much less of the 'bad guy' in the Second World War, but we'll refrain from making that point here.

What we want to look at right now is what the National Socialists did to the Jews, and why. You see, it's always asked what the National Socialists (or 'Nazis', a word which does not appear in Mein Kamph, or Hitler's Second Book) did to the Jews, and almost never what the Jews did to the National Socialists, or the Germans at large. So before it is at all possible to understand what exactly it was that the National Socialists, and by association Adolf Hitler, did to the Jews, it's important to address what exactly the Jews did to the Germans.

Since 1850, the Germans had perceived the Jews as doing three major things which lead to the actions which followed:

1. Despite being a small minority of the population, at the time of Hitler’s rise to power around 500,000 or 2% of the total German population of over 60,000,000, they [Jews] managed to control around 50% of the German media, and to have a tremendous influence in films and theater productions as well as in literature. The Germans felt they were drastically overrepresented given their size.
2. The Germans felt that Jews were at the origin of a lot of catastrophic financial bank crashes in Germany between 1870 and 1920. Thousands of Germans lost their incomes, jobs and savings due to these various financial crashes, and the Germans were justly outraged. It is important to note that the Germans did not come to this conclusion by means of National Socialist Anti-Semitic propaganda, but that these were well documented claims being made in Germany long before the National Socialists ever came to power. We can see many examples of criminal international bankers and financiers who happen to be Jewish today.
3. The Germans felt that the Jews had introduced, through art, literature and films, a sort of moral decadence. The first adultery plays were made in 1880’s and written by Jewish authors in Germany. The Germans blamed the Jews for the sexual perversion that began to sweep over the country, which took many forms such as sadism and masochism. The Germans were also outraged by the mainly Jewish invention of ‘modern art’ (read about Tristan Tzara and the creation of the Dada movement), which they deemed as ridiculous and devoid of any talent or soul. 

Jews will never bring up any of these very real points when discussing National Socialist action against them (which in reality, was very fair and just considering the circumstances). Ultimately, after the Jews had been rightfully identified as the enemies of Germany as a country, a culture, and a people, they were rounded up and deported.

Jews were deported to none other than Palestine, a country they had been fervently agitating for control over for decades already at the time of the signing of the Transfer Agreement (1933).

In fact, some people find it hard to understand just why on earth Hitler would agree to send the Jews exactly where they wanted to go. Some people, despite never having any evidence, suggest that perhaps the whole National Socialist German movement, and Hitler himself, were secret Zionist agents! In reality, these people are trying to look at the world through a peep hole.

It's easily understandable why Adolf Hitler would have chosen to send the Jews to Palestine when one puts his decision into historical context, and doesn't just assume things based on preconceived ideas. In 1933, the year in which the transfer agreement was signed, there were roughly 7,000,000 people unemployed in Germany, which was the highest unemployment rate in European history. The country was in absolute ruin and was the sin capitol of the world. Hitler had much bigger things on his plate in 1933 than the Jews. Therefore, he wanted a quick fix to the problem. It's easy to understand that people will be more willing to leave somewhere if they're being sent somewhere else which they want to go. Hitler capitalized on this and used the Transfer Agreement to his and Germany's favor. So it wasn't that the Zionist got the best of Hitler, or that he was a Zionist himself, he just used their own demands to his advantage because he saw the opportunity that arose: that most Jews would willingly emigrate to Palestine if it was paid for, which it was, and which thousands of them did.

So, not only did Hitler have no hate for other races, but he even treated the Jews with respect (which, in all honesty, they did not deserve) and sent them, of all places, exactly where they wanted to go!

Perhaps never has there been a more misrepresented, misunderstood figure than Adolf Hitler. At his peak the most popular leader in Europe, and at his lowest a homeless drifter living in a Viennese shelter; Adolf Hitler's life and story is far more complex than most people would have you believe. Almost everyone in the world, and surely everyone in North America and Europe, know the name Adolf Hitler. However, for the most part, they are only ever presented with one side of him, a side of him which is based far more in wartime propaganda than it is in reality. Hitler is almost always depicted as a cold-blooded madman, a lunatic who's only goal was to exterminate the Jews and take over the world. However, we know now that these things simply are not true. Not only was there never an official German order to exterminate the Jews, but Hitler himself never once spoke of such action. Likewise, it's well understood that Hitler, and the Germans at large, had no plans of world domination. This is obvious once one understands that they were nationalists, and nationalism is an ideology which simply is not congruent with a more globalist, communist ideology of world governance and dissolution of national borders and identity.

Adolf Hitler, to most people, is seen as a stern, hard, unforgiving man. If one searches 'Adolf Hitler' in a Google image search, most of the pictures reflect Hitler either in the middle of a heated speech, or looking rather serious. Rarely are we exposed to photographs of Adolf Hitler which tell perhaps another tale, and show a side of him that almost no one, except the Germans of his time, really knew.

These photographs, which highlight very good traits (love and respect for children, bravery and courage during war, care and appreciation for animals) don't exactly fit with the popular notion of Adolf Hitler as the most evil man who ever lived.

Of course, Adolf Hitler was not the most evil man who has ever lived. He was, if anything, just about as far away form such a description as one man could possibly get. However, most people won't take the time to hear what he, Hitler, himself had to say. They won't read his books (Mein Kampf, Hitler's Second Book), or books which offer insight into his brilliant mind (Hitler's Table Talk), no, most will just blindly and uncritically accept the victorious allied narrative that Adolf Hitler was an evil madman, usually without any proof (fake Holocausts don't count).

Ghandi, a man noted for his pacifism and good-heartedness, had this to say of Hitler:

"We have no doubt about your bravery or devotion to your fatherland, nor do we believe that you are the monster described by your opponents."

And in the same light, many well respected statesmen and diplomats visited Hitler during the 1930's and had nothing but the best to say of him. Of course, his own German people were no different. Adolf Hitler was loved by his people to a degree that most of us today cannot possibly even fathom. One is hard pressed to find a man as revered and respected by his countrymen in all of history. Even neighboring countries, such as Austria, loved Hitler; and when Austria was asked to join the German Reich, the Austrian people voted overwhelmingly by 99% in favor of such action.

Despite all of this, Hitler is still portrayed as the paramount of evil, the apex of cruelty, and the peak of hatred. In reality, Hitler was a kind, brave, honest man of incredible virtue; although, he was by no means afraid to speak his mind even if he knew it would land him in trouble. Unfortunately, most people never know the true Adolf Hitler, as he was ultimately not victorious in his gallant struggle of the time. As we know, it is the victors who write history, not the losers. For this reason, Hitler's true life remains unknown to almost all those who are born into a world that curses his name.
